We encourage you to learn more about the names of God by continuing on with your own Bible study. We have provided additional resources under each video, and you will find several lists of God’s names in the Appendixes of the Companion Bible by E.W. Bullinger as well. We suggest starting with Appendix 4 and Appendix 98. It will be an eye-opening experience, drawing you closer to God and giving your relationship with Him more depth and meaning than ever before.
*Please note there are many configurations of God’s names and they can be pronounced in a variety of ways. We looked to the Hebrew pronunciation for this feature. We have used Yahweh in place of the more common Jehovah, because Jehovah is an incorrect translation of the name YHVH (YHWH). A sixteenth-century German translator used the vowels of Adonai, from ancient Jewish texts, because they were under the consonants of YHVH. By doing this he came up with the incorrect name of Jehovah (YaHoVaH) which then spread throughout Europe. You can also refer to the Jewish Encyclopedia, where it shows Jehovah is a mispronunciation of the Hebrew name of God, Yahweh.
