How Do We Live For God?
God wants to bless you and He wants the best for you, which comes from living for God each day.
God even loves His enemies. He does good to them. He blesses those who curse Him. He is a father to the needy, a friend to the lonely, the friendless and the lowly. Our Father in heaven is a helper to the orphan and the widow in need. He comes to the aid of the distressed and those who have no helper. Our Father in heaven is helping and serving mankind 24 hours a day, and He does this in secret, receiving no glory from men.
God in heaven wants you to imitate Him by imitating Jesus Christ in your daily life (Eph. 5:1; 1 Cor. 11:1). You are to serve others zealously until God creates in you Christ’s new nature (Rom. 15:2-3; 1 Peter 3:13; Gal. 4:19). It will be a sacrifice on your part, but a sacrifice with which God will be well-pleased (Heb. 13:16). As a precaution against building self-righteousness, Jesus instructs you to do all that you do in word or deed in His name for the glory of the Father (Eph. 6:6; Matt. 5:16; 6:1; Col. 3:17). This will insure that you are subjecting yourself to the righteousness of God (Rom. 10:3).
The God of righteousness will soon crush your old nature and put it under your control (Rom. 16:20). God will then reveal Jesus Christ’s new life in your flesh. As you continue to practice the righteous deeds that Christ did when He was here on earth, God will perfect you and strengthen you in this new and living Way (Heb. 10:20; 1 Peter 5:10). What a glorious Way it is!
