In League With the Stones of the Field
When was the last time you saw a sparrow die of starvation (Matt. 6:26; 10:29)? Who feeds the lions and the ravens (Job 38:39-41)? Isn’t it their Creator? How would you like to have all your needs taken care of by your Creator and never have to worry about anything ever again? You can if you seek God’s kingdom first by practicing God’s righteous Ways in your life (Matt. 6:33).
Birds and animals were created by God to conform to the Will of God and to perform accordingly. Because of this, all their needs are met.
Man, on the other hand, was created in the image of God, with the potential of God but lacking God’s nature. God’s nature is God’s Will or God’s Ways.
When you set your will to do something, you are accomplishing your own will or ways. God says His Ways are as far removed from ours as the east is from the west (Is. 55:8-9). Our ways are not God’s Ways, but by keeping God’s Ways, we can have Jesus Christ’s nature formed in us (Gal. 4:19).
We must stamp out Satan’s will in our lives by resisting him daily and doing only God’s Will - which is righteousness - on this earth as it is done in heaven (Matt. 6:10). Jesus Christ did this and overcame, and we are to follow His example (Rev. 3:21). We stamp out Satan’s will in our lives by doing only God’s Will in our lives, and by glorifying God with good works done in Jesus Christ’s name (Rom. 10:2-3; Matt. 5:16; Col. 3:17). We continue to do our good in this way until our righteousness exceeds the pharisaical stage and as happy slaves of Jesus Christ, we do God’s Will from the heart (Eph. 6:6; Matt. 5:20; 25:33-46). Once this occurs, we are fulfilling God’s purpose for our existence and we are in league with the stones of the field (Job 5:23). Now, God will take care of all our needs and all things will be added to us (Matt. 6:33).
