A Woman to Woman Article
Little Things Mean A Lot
It’s wasn’t our anniversary! It wasn’t my birthday! But my husband walked in with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He wanted me to know he loved me. Little things mean a lot.
I fixed a pot of tea for a widow. I added a little snack to make it more special. The widow said, “Thank you.” Yes, little things mean a lot.
I came home from a busy day and my daughter had completely cleaned the house. It was so pleasant. Yes, little things mean a lot.
Little things mean a lot to the Lord, too. When we go the extra mile for someone and do extra acts of kindness and charity for others, this means a lot to God. When we serve others, we are truly serving God, because Matthew 25:40 says, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.”
Doing acts of kindness is how we overcome. Psalm 37:27 says, “Overcome evil by doing good.” This is a special Way of life that glorifies God in heaven. Read Matthew 5:16. These are things we must learn to do (Is. 1:16-17; Titus 2:7; 3:1, 8, 14).
When you begin to live a life of doing little acts of kindness for others, a whole new world will open up to you. This is God’s special Way of living that Jesus came to show us. It is a beautiful world of giving and sharing, loving and serving. It is the way that brings peace, joy, prosperity and abundance into your life. It is an outward way of living instead of an inward way of living. It really makes each day very special, very pleasant and happy.
As the words of a song go:
Little things mean a lot
when you do them every day.
Little things mean a lot
when you’re living God’s special Way.
Little things mean a lot
and loving is the key.
Do His Will forever
and live eternally
(Matt. 7:21; 1 John 2:17).
