The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand

The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand

The kingdom of heaven is entered by repentance.  Jesus Christ’s words confirm this (Matt. 4:17).  So, to enter the kingdom of heaven and receive eternal life, all one needs to know is how to repent according to God’s word.

It is one thing to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and say the Sinner’s prayer from your heart (Eph. 2:8-9).  It is another thing to prove your repentance daily by what you think, do and say from that point forward (Eph. 2:10).

There are people who continue to live their old sinful lives and continue in their old sinful ways, believing that by some miracle they are saved (Gal. 5:19-21).  Many are being told they are saved when they were never even told how to repent.  As a result, they continue to live detestable and disobedient lives before God because nothing changes in their lives (Titus 1:16).  They continue to live detestable lives because they are not doing good toward others for God daily.

God wants us to cease from a life of doing evil by beginning a life of doing good.   He wants us to be outgoing, charitable, loving, giving, kind, gracious, honest, honorable and compassionate people (Gal. 5:22-25; Prov. 19:22).  He says He will cause growth in us if we will put these principles into practice toward one another daily (1 Cor. 3:7).  He wants us to come out of self by doing good for others continually (Rom. 12:21; 1 Peter 3:10-11).  He wants us to love our neighbors by helping and serving them and by doing good to them daily.  This is how Jesus Christ’s true followers live (Acts 9:36).  This is true repentance.

Jesus came here not only to die for our sins, but also to be our example of how to overcome (1 Peter 2:21; Rev. 3:21).  He came here to show us how to repent so we will live forever (Psalm 37:27).  Jesus Christ wants us to live by His words and act on them daily (John 8:51; 11:26; Matt. 7:24; Luke 8:21).

God’s Will is righteousness because all God’s Ways are righteous (Psalm 145:17).  When we do God’s Will daily, as we are supposed to do, we are practicing righteousness for God.  We are pleasing Him in all we think, say and do and we are walking in the light of God’s word (1 John 1:7).  We are effectual doers of God’s word and we begin to be blessed in all we do (James 1:22, 25).   When we do God’s Will, we will have our prayers answered and we will live forever (John 9:31; 1 John 2:17).

Now is the time to repent and enter God’s glorious, good life that is waiting for you (Matt. 7:21).  This is the true message of the kingdom of heaven.
